Do-it-yourself tours allow you to work off the calories while saving a few bucks.  Do-it yourself tours allow you to save money by arranging your own transportation.  You avoid the cost of transportation and the gratuities paid to drivers of vehicles-for-hire. If you're not looking to save on cost, rather allow yourself the freedom to customize your tour, this is also the most practical option.
